Moosin' Around

Well today we got our precious baby...MOOSIE!!! He's a sweet puppy and very good so far. He hasn't had one accident in the house yet, but the day is still young! ha! He's very loving and was great with Jackson today. He even liked Gracie and thought she might be his momma! If you know our family you know how demented we are about our animals and this dog will be no exception. He's destined to be one spoiled rotten pooch!

Jackson fell in love with him and was looking for any excuse to stay at our house to play with Moosie!

He thought it would be really cool if Moosie would run between his legs, however the dog wasn't cooperating!

Luke's trying to act coy but he's as crazy about him as the rest of us!

It didn't take long for Moose to get tuckered out. He fell asleep in Matt's arms.

Luke had told Jackson that it was time to go home so Jack could take his nap. We found Jack on the sofa pretending sleep so that he could stay with the dog. Clever, but alas it did not work!

You know the old addage...let sleeping puppies lie!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

We had a wonderful day today....opening presents and being together with our families. Here are some highlights of our Xmas Eve and Day.

Xmas opening at Gmomma and Gdaddys is a tradition. We gather in her den and open our goodies. She has the best tree ever!

Another tradition is opening our stockings. We usually do this Xmas morning, but this year we opened them on Christmas eve. Mom filled our stockings with goodies like notepads, gift cards, soaps, and shampoos. Thanks mom!

Jackson got a slinky in his stocking and he thought it might be fun to see what it would do on Grandmas head!

Gdaddy got an emergency car kit. His number is 841-1444 if you need emergency roadside assistance!

Gracie and Mandy found themselves underneath the missle toe. What's a dog to do?

Gdaddy and Matt both got the new Alabama DVDs called "Defining Moments." I definately see five hours of torture in my future.

But hey, we're happy!

Christmas mania!

Matt got some cool ornaments on his presents. These were on a gift from Pennie and Uncle Scott.

Luke got some cold hard cash....the gift that keeps on giving. I think his exact words were "always the right size!"

Tonight we all gathered at mom and dads to eat Xmas dinner and play games. We feasted on chicken and dressing, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole (all 16 pounds of it. I'm not joking), roast, confederate bean soup, green beans, etc, etc, etc, etc. We had food for 80 although we only fed like 10. It was out of control. After dinner we played a few games. Luke had a new game called "Quelf." It was a very strange game in which you had to do, say, and think very strange things. Perfect for our family. We had a great time.

At one point I had to wear a necktie and Matt had to tape a word to his forehead. Becky had to snort every time she laughed. Which is not that different from what she always does!

At some point in the game, I also had to tape something to my forehead.

Becky had to sit one entire round under the table. She was a very good sport about it.

Luke had to keep one hand in warm water for one round. I think it affected his bladder.

Dad had to sing the alphabet backwards. He actually completed the whole thing without missing one letter.

Matt and I both had to keep our elbows on the board for one entire round. We tend to be pretty unlucky that way!

Chocolate Moose

This is a pic of our little Moosie! Hollie took this pic and thinks he is the one on top. He has a little bit of white on his chest. Yorkies are always born this color and could turn into either silver, grey, or tan. He weighs about one pound right now. It will be a few more weeks before we bring him home, and we can't wait!

It's beginning to look alot like...a house!

I got my new camera today (Thanks Matt!) and I just had to go out and play with it. These are some pics I took of Mom and Dad's new house. They're only a couple months away from moving in...who's joining me on a month long vacation around moving day? hahaah...just kidding. I'll be there moving boxes, feeding dogs, playing with jack to keep him occupied, and fanning mom! ha!

The top of the house has an overlook or "observatory." The window is dirty but you can tell how high up this is.

Making a Playlist is Stressful

Ok, so check out the new playlist. I tried to put upbeat music on it (your welcome, Hollie), but that was harder than I thought. So I ended up with half and half. I'll be adding more later, but these are some songs that came to mind when faced with like a million choices on the playlist website. And this is all for you....my faithful two followers....Ha! Oh, and if Miley Cyrus' breakout song doesn't make you feel like dancing around with your underwear on your head singing into a wooden spoon....I can't help you.

Catcher in the Rye

Whenever Matt and I walk in Chapel Hills, I like to play "Does anyone's yard in Chapel Hills look worse than ours?" It's been getting more and more difficult to find a yard that looks worse than ours. Ok so it's a mean game, but I need to know that we're not the only ones whose frontyard looks like it could be found in Chernobyl. Dead grass, ugly shrubs....you get the point. Enter my uncle Ress. He's a genius with plants....the typical Wilsher green thumb. He's going to help us do CPR on the yard. And not a minute too soon.

Dead grass is not attractive. When Aunt Nancy came over she said "Everybody's yard is looking bad this time of year." I replied "This is actually the best it's looked all summer." She was like..."oooohhhh."

There they are....a motley crew of various hordicultural marvels ready to guard and defend the yard. Ok, maybe just spruce it up. Ress and Nancy graciously brought over some of his overflow to help us out. If it works, there will no doubt be another blog to celebrate. Oh, and we planted winter rye, which should add some green during the winter....keep your fingers crossed!

Beautiful Savannah Wedding!

This weekend was April (Matt's sister) and Owen's Wedding in Savanna, Georgia. If you haven't be there, I highly recommend it. Beautiful town, lots of history, shopping, and of course...that good ol' southern cookin'. We ate at Lady and Sons (and saw the sons in person), Barbara Jeans, Uncle Bubbas....etc. We can pretty much eat our way across any city. It's a gift, what can I say.




All of the pictures were taken by Mandy. I was lazy and didn't take one single picture, I don't think. She got some great shots, especially the wedding day.

This is the townhome where we stayed. It was directly adjacent to Forsyth Park, where the wedding was supposed to be. Nice old historic home...hardwood floors....beautifully restored.

This is the home where Jim Williams lived (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil). I had no intention of reading this book until we came here...I'm only on the first chapter, so we'll see how it goes.

Historic B and B called the Hamilton-Turner House. If we come back to Savannah, this is high on my list of places to stay. They say it was the first home in Savannah to have electricity. People would come into the square at night to watch them turn on the lights!

There are a few blacksmith shops in town that design these custom gates. You choose your favorite floor and they make it into a drop-dead gorgeous one-of-a-kind gate.

These live oaks are everywhere in Savannah.

Ahoy Jaybee!

Forsythe Park has a beautiful fountain...and was supposed to be the site of the wedding. But it ended up raining! Oh Well! Their wedding was so beautiful and sweet you didn't even realize it wasn't planned inside!
